I have completed my first full week of unemployment. I was a LOT busier than planned. I applied on jobs, spoke to contacts, exercised, did some chores around the house, took a nap. Overall, it was good, restful.
I do miss some parts of having a job as well as some things I don’t miss:
- I miss earning a salary
- I miss solving a customer’s problems
- I miss the camaraderie from going out to lunch on Friday with colleagues
- I don’t miss waking up early
- I don’t miss commuting
- I don’t miss working on a rigid, fixed schedule
We’ll see how I feel after two weeks of unemployment. The job search continues.
